The high amount of major video games that will be launched during the fall season means that gamers will have to carefully choose which ones they want to pick up and play, and on November 10, their decision will be even harder to make as they have to select between Rise of the Tomb Raider and Fallout 4.

Brian Horton, the game director working on the new Lara Croft-powered adventure, tells GamingBolt that his team understands the tough competition they are engaged in and is certain that they can deliver a quality experience.

He states, "We’re big fans of Fallout, it’s such a great game. But we believe we offer something completely different from a gaming experience point of view. We feel good about the date and the quality of the game will speak for itself."

The Rise of the Tomb Raider will take Lara Croft to Siberia as she seeks to discover a rumored hidden city, and Crystal Dynamics is promising improved gameplay, more emotion for the narrative, and a range of other tweaks.

Horton says that gamers will be able to choose how to engage with the new adventure, regardless of their preference for action or for stealth.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive for the Xbox One, which means that it will probably sell fewer copies than Fallout 4, which is designed to arrive on the Microsoft device, the PlayStation 4, and the PC.

Microsoft will apparently no longer invest in third-party exclusives

The Rise of the Tomb Raider will also be offered on the PC in early 2016 and at some point in the fall of next year on the PlayStation 4.

Microsoft and Square Enix have not offered any information on the sums that changed hands in order to make sure that the title arrives initially on the Xbox One.

Phil Spencer, who leads the home console division of the company, has recently said that there are no plans to pay for other third-party titles in the future.

Microsoft wants to focus more on the intellectual properties that it owns to make sure that gamers have unique experiences to enjoy on the Xbox One.
