The latest version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 is here

On July 22, Red Hat, Inc. had the great pleasure of announcing the immediate availability of the seventh maintenance release for its stable and long-term supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 operating system for servers and desktops.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 is a crucial release that adds many essential security features, introduces a new solution towards container-based application infrastructure for preexisting workloads, offers collaborative operational analytics support, and adds numerous stability and performance improvements.

Prominent features of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 include support for mounting removable media as read-only in order to prevent data leakage, the addition of an easy-to-use utility, called SCAP (Security Content Automation Protocol) Workbench, that delivers tailored SCAP content functionality and can be used as an SCAP scanner.

Additionally, existing RHEL customers will be able to use the SCAP Workbench tool for measurements of compliance of their installations against the specific security criteria and guidelines of their companies. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 is compatible with Red Hat's new hosted service, Red Hat Access Insights, for enhanced reliability of IT deployments.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 is all about innovation, as it comes with all the latest and greatest open-source Linux technologies, such as the clufter tool for transformation and analysis of cluster configuration formats, full support for LVM Cache, as well as a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.7 base image for deploying container-based applications on container providers that are certified by Red Hat.
