You would think that after botching the launch of Snapdragon 810 chipset, Qualcomm's pool of customers would get thinner.

HTC, Sony Mobile and other handset makers had major issues with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset included in their flagship smartphones.

Even though Qualcomm stated a few times that the overheating issues plaguing its chipset have been addressed, reports coming from users proved otherwise.

The good news for Qualcomm is that OEMs continue to trust its products. Even Samsung, which decided to use its own Exynos chipset in most of its high-end smartphones launched this year, is determined to help Qualcomm make a better chipset for the next year's flagships.

According to GforGames, a new report coming from China cites Qualcomm's president Frank Meng as saying that there are no less than 30 smartphones powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset in the works.

The number is impressive considering that most of these Snapdragon 820-powered smartphones are expected to arrive on the market in the first half of 2016.

No brands have been named, but we already know most of them

Even though Qualcomm's official did not mention any brands, we can safely assume that some of the most important handset makers currently want the Snapdragon 820 chipset inside their flagship smartphones.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 is said to come equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor inside since the South Korean company also sent its engineers to help the chipset maker test it thoroughly.

HTC, LG, Motorola, Xiaomi and Meizu might be on the list of companies that have already decided to use the Snapdragon 820 chipset in some of their most powerful smartphones soon to be available on the market.

So, it looks like the future is bright for Qualcomm, even though the Snapdragon 810 chipset wasn't without problems. Let's hope the next top-of-the-line product coming from the chipset maker will be flawless.
