14 DAY TRIAL // Qtractor, an open-source, free, and cross-platform audio and MIDI multi-track sequencer software piece, has been updated to version 0.7.4, and it is now available for download for all GNU/Linux operating systems.
Based on some of the most prominent open-source audio technologies, such as Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) and Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA), Qtractor proved to be a powerful and versatile MIDI and audio sequencer for Linux users who own a personal home-studio.
The latest release, Qtractor 0.7.4, adds a multitude of features to enhance that audio/MIDI sequencing experience for the Linux community. Among the most important changes, we can mention crispier and faster idle cycles for the VTS plugin editor and support for disabling the default "catch-up" functionality.
The Mixer multi-row layout saw some improvements, application keywords have been added to the AppData implementation, various issues with the track control related to the generic mapping of MIDI Controllers have been resolved, and one decimal digit has been introduced in all of MIDI Tools dialog's percentage input spin-boxes.
Bugfixes, lots of bugfixes
The same one decimal digit has also been added for audio Clip/Edit's Pitch-shift spin-box. Additionally, Qtractor 0.7.4 makes the Help/Shortcuts dialog window modeless, shades the non-soloed and muted tracks over the main thumb view, and addresses an issue with the Ctrl+drag and Ctrl+cloning operations for clips.
Other than that, Qtractor 0.7.4 fixes some glitches reported by users in the play-head line and vertical scrolling re-drawing, which appears to have been introduced by the unlimited slack functionality, addresses a problem with the local keyboard shortcuts of the Files organizer widget actions, as well as many other issues.
