If it's one thing that the PlayStation 4 was missing, it was a custom faceplate. People won't have to wait any longer as Sony is launching four new custom faceplates that will be available on November 18.

If you want to put some bling on your PlayStation 4, or you want to match it to the couch that doesn't really match anything else in the living room, Sony is providing users with four custom faceplates of various colors. It's strange that Sony didn't choose some game themes or literally anything else that would be attractive to gamers, but at least it's something.

Unlike the previous generation of consoles, the current one is much more open to customization, and we already had quite a few custom versions released with a number of games. This is the kind of customization that usually appeals to gamers, but it's most likely just a shy start from Sony. Maybe this is more like a test to see if they catch on.

Four fancy colors

Sony chose some fancy names for the new faceplates, and they might seem impressive, but that's hardly the case. The colors are named Neon Orange, Aqua Blue, Red and Glacier White.

"Now you can give your PS4 an instant, new look with our vibrant range of custom faceplates. Quick and easy to fit, you can customise your system in a matter of seconds. Simply remove the HDD bay cover and then slide and click your chosen faceplate over the PS4 hard disc drive. Whether you want your PS4 looking bold and bright or stylish and sleek, with six colours to choose from it’s easy to get the look you’re after" reads the announcement made by Sony.

The official launch date for the faceplates is November 18, but users should expect to see a Gold and Silver one at a later date. For some weird reason, Silver and Gold will not be available in the UK and Ireland, and Neon Orange won't be available in Scandinavia.
