The application is almost ready for launch

PlayStation 4 games could soon be played on PCs with the help of an application that also provides support for mouse and keyboard, albeit still rudimentary.

One of the features implemented by Sony is the ability to stream games from the PlayStation 4 to PlayStation Vita. It’s been around for some time, but it’s something that’s gone largely unused since the sales of PlayStation Vita are going down and very few people are still using them.

This also explained why there is a gaming stream coming from PlayStation 4 and why someone was able to put that to good use. A developer who calls himself Twisted is working on an application named Remote Play PC that will do just that.

His work is in fact based on an application for Android that does the same thing, but with a lot fewer options. Twisted has been working on this app for quite some time, and he managed to do something that should have been done by Sony in the first place.

Microsoft is already there

Microsoft already provides users with the ability to stream games from Xbox One to Windows 10. For now, only the Xbox One controller is supported, but that could change in the future. Remote Play PC also supports the PlayStation controller, and it tricks the console into thinking that it’s streaming to a PS Vita.

The developer said that Remote Play PC won’t be a free application, but it will be sold at a modicum price, probably £6.50 ($10). From the looks of it, there is already some rudimentary mouse and keyboard support, but it still needs some work.

“I’d like to work on this project full time, adding features, getting it stable and porting it to other platforms which I know a lot of you want! The only way to support this is to charge for the app, all my previous projects have been free and I don’t want to have to but sadly its the only way to support my living costs,” Twisted wrote on his website.

The downside of this application is that Sony can issue an update for PS4 and remove this feature completely. It’s not like they haven’t done it before and they might not want the PC people playing their games.
