The Debian-based Parsix GNU/Linux computer operating system is becoming more and more popular with each day that passes, as its development cycle accelerated in the last year.

Parsix GNU/Linux releases are made available almost each month, bringing all sorts of new technologies from the upstream Debian GNU/Linux software repositories. But you know what they say, with great power comes great responsibility, so the Parsix developers also have to keep up with the latest software updates and security patches.

Therefore, today we inform Parsix GNU/Linux users that the 8.0 (Mumble) and 8.5 (Atticus) releases, the latter still being in development at the moment of writing this article, have just received a kernel update based on the recently released and long-term supported Linux kernel 4.1.10 LTS.

"Parsix Developers closely follow Debian Security Advisories and port them to our own security repository. Right now we are offering security support for both of our stable and testing branches. Parsix Continent repository is also fully supported by security updates," reads the announcement.

Mozilla Firefox 41.0.1 lands in all supported Parsix GNU/Linux OSes

In addition to the Linux kernel 4.1.10 LTS packages for Parsix GNU/Linux 8.0 (Mumble) and Parsix GNU/Linux 8.5 TEST-1 (Atticus), the Parsix developers managed to updated the Mozilla Firefox web browser in all supported Parsix GNU/Linux operating systems, that includes Parsix GNU/Linux 7.5 (Rinaldo) too, to version 41.0.1.

As usual, the Parsix GNU/Linux developers urge their users to update their systems as soon as possible in order to receive the new software versions. If you're new to Parsix, we recommend that you read the Security Updates page from the distribution's website to see how you can keep your system secure at all times. Recent security advisories are also available there, along with instructions on how to update the OS.
