Lesson learned: unless it’s more affordable, buy from Apple

eBay is certainly a place where you can find lots of cool stuff, but at the same time, it’s also the kind of place that can make you spend $500 on a rock thinking that you’re buying a new iPhone.

A reddit post that made it to the front page earlier today is living proof that you really don’t know what to expect when buying from eBay sellers who aren’t verified and who haven’t received at least 1,000 positive reviews.

Basically, here’s the short story: someone, let’s call him Joey, wanted to purchase an Apple Watch, and instead of going to the Apple Store, he decided to search for it on eBay.

i Watch/i Phone Watch, who knows?

The weird thing is that he was ready to spend the full price of a brand new Apple Watch on an item sold on eBay, so unless he was living in a country without an Apple Store (which we really doubt, given the fact that all signs point to the United States as his home country) or one without retailers selling the device, we can't help but question his decision.

Basically, Joey wanted to spend $600 (€553) on an Apple Watch sold on eBay instead of paying $600 for an Apple Watch sold by Apple.

And what he got instead was this super cool i Watch/i Phone Watch (the manufacturer can’t decide on the name either, as different “branding” is being used on the band and the watch face).

Now, we can’t tell for sure if this watch is in working condition or not, but it’s very clear that it’s the most unique Apple Watch Joey could ever buy. Let’s just hope that Tim Cook sees this, and the next-generation Apple Watch would look just like this.
