Today, November 23, the Manjaro development team, through Philip Müller, had the great pleasure of informing all users of the Manjaro Linux distribution about the general availability of the seventh update for Manjaro 15.09 (Bellatrix).

Manjaro Update 2015-11-23 (stable) includes many updated applications and core components, among which we can mention the latest KDE technologies, including the KDE Plasma 5.4.3 desktop environment, KDE Applications 15.08.3, and KDE Frameworks 5.16.0. Also worth mentioning are the Cinnamon 2.8 desktop environment, which is now available from the overlay software, along with the GNOME 3.18.2 desktop environment, and the final build of the Octopi 0.8 graphical package manager.

"Some of you might have noticed that it took now one week longer to prepare this update pack. Well, some claimed that updating our stable-branch every week on Monday might hold back some of you from switching over to 'testing,'" said Philip Müller. "Also some think that having this update speed makes 'stable' not as best tested as in waiting for another week by getting more feedback from everybody having ‘testing’ on their boxes."

Manjaro Linux Deepin Edition gets ready for prime time

Moreover, the Manjaro Update 2015-11-23 stable update includes the recently released Mesa 3D Graphics Library 11.0.6 and implements the latest Bumblebee (Optimus for Linux) hybrid graphics from the upstream Arch Linux repositories. It is also important to note that it adds the Linux 4.3.0, 4.2.6, 4.1.13 LTS, 3.19.8.10, 3.18.24 LTS, 3.16.7.20, 3.14.57 LTS, 3.13.11.30, 3.12.50 LTS, and 3.10.93 LTS kernel packages. As expected, all the security patches and updates from the upstream Arch Linux software repos have been included as well.

All users of the stable Manjaro Linux 15.09 (Bellatrix) operating system are urged to update their systems as soon as possible using the built-in package manager. The Manjaro Update 2015-11-23 update is now live. Please keep in mind that, from now on, Manjaro Linux will receive stable updates every other Monday. In the meantime, the Manjaro Linux community is preparing a Manjaro Linux Deepin Edition, but more on that later.
