Earlier today, December 14, 2015, the developers behind the cross-platform and free Vivaldi web browser announced the release of a new snapshot build towards the second Beta version of the software.

Ruarí Ødegaard was the one to drop the news, again, and we can notice that Vivaldi Snapshot 1.0.344.34 is a very small release that represents the RC (Release Candidate) build of Beta 2. It fixes a nasty crash that occurred when attempting to create a note while selecting a folder, and it implements support for moving tabs between windows.

"This small update to Friday's snapshot is a beta 2 candidate release. Being Vivaldi, we couldn't resist adding in (our initial implementation) of a feature to move tabs between windows. We also fixed a nasty crash," said Ruarí Ødegaard, Linux QA and Testing at Vivaldi.

The new detach tab menu feature was implemented as an item in the right click tab context menu, called "Move to," allowing users to move the respective tab between different windows of the Vivaldi web browser. If only one window is opened, then the new feature will create one for you.

Vivaldi Beta 2 coming soon

The Vivaldi developers plan on improving the new detach tab menu functionality implemented in this new snapshot, but there are no details on that, so we will have to wait and see what they have in store for us. Until then, the second Beta build of Vivaldi should launch in the coming days.

As usual, you can download the latest Vivaldi snapshot from our website for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows operating systems, just please try to keep in mind that it is a pre-release version, so some features are incomplete, and bugs are all over the place. We don't recommend using it on production systems.
