One of the many popular mobile games available on all three major platforms (Android, iOS and Windows Phone), Lara Craft GO has just received a major update and a substantial price cut.

First of all, developers announced that a new expansion called The Shard of Life would now be available for download for Android and iOS versions of the game.

Square Enix also confirmed that the Windows Phone game would receive the new expansion as well, though not right away, so stay tuned for more on its availability.

The Shard of Life expansion contains no less than 26 new puzzles in a mysterious location called, “The Cave of Fire.”

The latest update also implements a new mechanic that is supposed to change enemy behavior completely. Also, there's a new set of gems to discover: obsidian stones.

But these aren't the only changes included in the latest Lara Croft GO update. Developers confirmed they added two new artifacts to collect and two new costumes.

Now it would be a good time to pick this one up

Hardcore players will be pleased to know that Lara Croft GO now features new achievements. A new snapshot feature has been added too, along with support for Traditional Chinese and a language selection menu.

On top of that, for a limited time, Square Enix shaved 40% off the game's regular price, which means it's now available for purchase for just $2.99.

“For the occasion, the game is also discounted to 2.99$ for a limited time! It’s the perfect time to jump in and even recommend it to your friends,” says Square Enix.

If you don't have the game yet, you can now download Lara Croft GO for Android for $2.99 via Google Play Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.1 and up.

For iOS users, the game can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 and newer.
