14 DAY TRIAL // Kodi's Martijn Kaijser announced earlier today, September 20, the immediate availability for download and testing of the second RC (Release Candidate) build of the upcoming Kodi 15.2 release.
Kodi 15.2 will be the second point release of the 15.x series of the world's most acclaimed open-source media center software, formerly known as XBMC Media Center. According to the release notes, Kodi 15.2 Release Candidate 2 fixes more of those annoying issues reported by users since the previous RC build.
Among these, we can mention fixes for MicroDVD subtitles, default sorting for audio tracks over the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) protocol, positioning of subtitles below video, continues check of system partitions on the Android platform, and video rewind on Microsoft Windows operating systems, which is not perfect yet.
"Once a ‘final’ version is released some new bugs and/or problems usually appear out of nowhere, and last release was no exception," says Martijn Kaijser. "To counter some of these new issues, we’re bringing you this second maintenance release candidate called 15.2 RC2 which has some additional fixes on top of the 15.0 and 15.1 release."
A Blu-Ray menu memory leak has been plugged
The second Release Candidate build of the upcoming Kodi 15.2 media center software plugs a memory leak that occurred when attempting to open the Blu-Ray menu for stream selection, and addresses an issue with file time used when scanning the media library, which promises to speed up the entire scanning operation for 32-bit hardware platforms.
Those of you who want to take Kodi 15.2 RC2 for a test drive can download the binary packages for GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, and Android operating systems right now from either the project's website or via Softpedia. However, please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version, which means that it is not ready for deployments on production environments.
