14 DAY TRIAL // Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux got engaged in August 2012 but they’re in no rush to make their wedding plans public. To the tabloids relying on unnamed “insiders,” that spells trouble in paradise and confirms that there are no plans to speak of.
This week’s print issue of Star Magazine, for one, claims that the engagement is off - and probably has been so since last month, when Aniston confronted one of Justin’s mistresses in New York (quotes via Jezebel and Gossip Cop).
Mistress works on “The Leftovers” with Justin
Insiders tell the tab that Jennifer had been hearing “whispers” of an affair for some time, so she did a little digging around and found out that Justin was cheating on her with a woman working on the set of HBO’s “The Leftovers,” on which he plays lead.
Apparently, she’s a blonde, but her identity isn’t revealed. As you can see in the photo attached, the cover of the tab includes a smaller photo (insert) tagged “The Moment She Snapped!” It should go with the accompanying story that Aniston finally got to confront the mistress after seeing her in NYC and lead us to believe that the pixelated woman in the photo is the same mistress.
Before proceeding any further, know that the woman is actress Malin Akerman, so unless Justin is cheating on Jennifer with her (which he’s not), Star is playin’ dirty (again) and reusing older red-carpet photos.
One confrontation, one engagement down the drain
Back to the story: “[Justin] swears nothing happened, but she thought different, and the fact that he may have cheated has stayed in the back of her mind,” an insider is quoted as saying.
Presumably, by the time she traveled to NYC last month, she already knew who the mistress was, so when she spotted her at a restaurant, the former “Friends” star didn’t hesitate and went up to her to confront her.
Another source claims that she didn’t beat about the bush either: Jennifer walked up to her and directly asked her if she’d been sleeping with her fiancé. The woman was so shocked that it took her a few moments before she could deny it, rushing to say “No! No!” and hoping Jennifer would believe her.
She didn’t. She took the denial as confirmation, writes the tab, and called Justin and told him about it, immediately calling off the engagement and the wedding.
This whole thing sounds like something you’d see on a soap-opera, so take the report with a grain of salt.
