Water and mountains sometimes fail to display properly

Just Cause 3 is one of the most ambitious titles of the year regarding world size and player freedom, but it seems that the development team at Avalanche Studios and publisher Square Enix have been unable to balance them against the need to make the game as bug-free and stable as possible on launch.

Players have only been able to spend a few hours with the experience, but there are already a lot of complaints both on the Reddit associated with the open-world experience and on the official forums.

At the moment, the biggest problems of Just Cause 3 are linked to the visuals, and they affect gamers on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

On both the home consoles, the experience fails to deliver a constant frame rate and often dips well below 30 FPS, which can have a big negative impact and means that players cannot enjoy the very freedom that the title focuses on.

Avalanche Studios and Square Enix have not yet announced plans to quickly deliver a patch or a hotfix that will eliminate the problems, but they will probably react today or tomorrow.

On the PC, Just Cause 3 sometimes fails to display water properly, and even entire mountains sometimes disappear or become composed of very low-quality textures, with gamers unable to actually reach and explore them.

The team at Nvidia has already revealed a performance guide for the game, and both the development team and graphics producers are working on updates, with AMD currently offering a beta tweak that should improve how the title runs for a lot of gamers.

It's probable that the first updates from the graphics cards makers and Avalanche Studios will not be able to deal with all the issues that gamers are facing, so it might take some time to make the experience run perfectly for all buyers and on all platforms.

Just Cause 3 is more open than any previous installment

The disappointment linked to the issues that the Avalanche Studios title is experiencing might overshadow the way the development team has managed to improve the overall formula of the series.

Rico Rodriguez is going back home, and his native island in the Mediterranean offers a perfect playground for his tendency to use excessive firepower and explosives to solve almost any problem.

The classic parachute and grappling hook combo offers improved mechanics, with gamers able to perform more impressive moves, and a new wingsuit is provided to make sure that players have even more ways to approach an objective.

Avalanche Studios wants to make sure that players have options when it comes to taking out targets that range from vehicles to humans and buildings in five very different types of environments.

The developers have not announced any plans to launch downloadable content for Just Cause 3, but they will work to deliver patches as quickly as possible, which is the only way to make sure that the community remains engaged with the open-world experience for as long as possible.
