Worried that the new phone will bend in your pocket?

You probably remember that last year, following the launch of the iPhone 6 Plus, a huge scandal dubbed #bendgate broke out. It’s actually probably one of the most debated subjects in tech in recent years.

What happened is that some users complained about their iPhone 6 Plus bending in their pocket. The news made headlines across the world and soon we saw some videos in which it was demonstrated how easily the iPhone 6 Plus would bend, even when applying pressure by hand.

Well, this year, the Cupertino tech giant took extra precautions to ensure the scenario would not repeat, despite claiming that they only received a few complaints related to #bendgate since the launch of the iPhone 6 Plus. The company also released a video showing how the phablets were tested during production, to appease the worries of consumers.

Now, you probably know that the iPhone 6 Plus employs the same Series 7000 aluminum used by the Apple Watch. The material is commonly used in the construction of aerospace products, which gives good prospects to the new Apple phablet.

Does the iPhone 6s Plus bend? Let's find out

Since the iPhone 6 Plus is out and about, it was only a matter of time before someone tried their hand at bending it. So will the new phablet be able to survive the test and come out unharmed? The guys at FoneFox answer this question in their latest video.

As you can see for yourselves in the clip posted below, it doesn’t appear that a person could bend the handset, at least not a normal one. Two people were able to get some bending on one of the weak areas of the chassis, but they sure put some effort into achieving this. But in a real life scenario, something like this is rarely bound to happen.

So, as far as this preliminary test goes, #bendgate is not a reason not to purchase the new iPhone 6s Plus if this is what you truly want to spend your money on.

The iPhone 6s Plus made a debut into the wild with a 5.5-inch display of 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution (401 ppi) and an A9 processor under the hood, fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16/64/128GB of internal storage.
