New report claims hot pink version is unlikely

The 4-inch iPhone is the next important product unveiling in queue at Apple, and since we’re approximately one month away from its public debut, quite a lot of rumors reach the web regarding the features, looks, or pricing of the new model.

A report swirling around the web the past weekend claimed that the premium-looking rose gold color that Apple launched with the iPhone 6s wouldn’t be available on the smaller version just because the company wanted to keep it exclusive on the more expensive model.

Instead, the Cupertino-based firm was said to be preparing a hot pink version of the smaller iPhone, but without the premium touch of the rose gold.

And yet, it turns out that this won’t be the case, according to a new report citing people with knowledge of the matter. It turns out that Apple has already prepared a rose gold version of the iPhone 5se (or 6c, as some call it), so the hot pink version is very unlikely.

Public launch in March

There’s a lot of speculation on this small iPhone right now, so it’s pretty hard to tell what is true and what is now, but rumor has it that the product unveiling will take place in March.

This means that, in approximately 30 days, we should see the new iPhone in all its glory (and color versions), so we’ll get to know whether rose gold is coming on this more affordable version or not.

And speaking of affordability, the iPhone 6c is likely to be priced at approximately $500 (€460) for the entry-level version with 16 GB of storage.

The device will probably come with the current A9 and M9 processors available on the 6s and 6s Plus, but it will lack 3D Touch and other features that Apple wants to keep exclusively on the more expensive models to prevent the iPhones from cannibalizing themselves.
