With all the negative rumors swirling around, people tend to forget some crucial aspects about the uber-sized iPhone 6, such as exactly how big it is.

You need to know this before you even care if it bends or not. If you’re the type who wears skinny jeans or doesn’t carry a purse, you might not even need the iPhone 6 Plus.

Exact weight and dimensions

iPhone 6 comes in two flavors, one with a 4.7-inch display and the other with a 5.5-inch screen. The press says the larger one bends easily, and we suggest that you also consider a case if you get this one, just to be sure.

The smaller model, dubbed simply "iPhone 6," has the following weight and dimensions:

Weight: 4.55 ounces (129 grams) Height/length: 5.44 inches (138.1 mm) Width: 2.64 inches (67.0 mm) Depth (thickness): 0.27 inch (6.9 mm)

The specs of the larger "iPhone 6 Plus" run accordingly:

Weight: 6.07 ounces (172 grams) Height/length: 6.22 inches (158.1 mm) Width: 3.06 inches (77.8 mm) Depth: 0.28 inch (7.1 mm)

Other specs to look after

When size doesn’t really matter, the iPhone 6 becomes the obvious choice for many. It’s already larger than the iPhone 5 and it’s got the same horsepower under the hood as the iPhone 6 Plus. The design is also virtually the same.

However, when choosing between the two models, you also need to take into consideration other specifications that might favor the larger model. Such as the camera and battery life.

Despite sharing an almost identical camera module, the iSight in the iPhone 6 Plus also boasts optical image stabilization. This may not sound like much to some, but people who are genuinely interested in using their iPhone as a high-quality portable camera will instantly know the difference.

Battery-wise, don’t expect too much of a difference. Despite boasting a bigger cell, the Plus also has a bigger screen, which is the primary battery drainer in any smartphone.

The advertised autonomy for each model goes as follows. iPhone 6 offers up to 14 hours talk time on 3G, up to 10 hours of Internet use on 3G, 10 hours on LTE, and 11 hours on Wi‑Fi, up to 11 hours of video playback and up to 50 hours of audio playback, while the standby time is around 10 days (250 hours).

As far as the Plus goes, the numbers are: 24h 3G talk time, 12h Internet access (any type), 14h video playback, 80h audio playback, and 16 days (384h) of standby time.
