14 DAY TRIAL // We reported a few days ago news about the Juju Status Flasher proof-of-concept project created by Matt Williams for the Ubuntu Snappy Core operating system running on an Orange Match Box Raspberry Pi 2 with PiGlow.
The developer managed to transform the PiGlow add-on board of the Orange Match Box Raspberry Pi 2 into a notification center (or alerts if you want to call them that) for things (bad and good) that happen with his cloud services, which is very useful if you don't have the time to check cloud alerts on your mobile phone or computer.
In the meantime, we've discovered that another skilled developer, Hardik Dalwadi, managed to create a different project, this time for Ubuntu Phones, an application called Make Me Glow and designed from the ground up to control Raspberry Pi 2's PiGlow add-on board.
The Make Me Glow app for Ubuntu Phone has been developed by a group of skilled developers during the Ubuntu Hackathon India event. The application is free and can be downloaded right now from the Ubuntu Phone Store. Juicy details on how it works are available on the Mr. Dalwadi's blog post.

For those of you who are not in the loop, we inform you that PiGlow is a small add-on board that can be attached very easily to any Raspberry Pi or Raspberry Pi 2 single-board computer (SBC), providing 18 LEDs that can be controlled individually and remotely.
Thanks to Victor Tuson Palau's new glowapi for the Snappy Ubuntu Core operating system, developers can now control PiGlow over the HTTP protocol, so you should expect to see more and more projects similar to the ones presented in this article very soon, especially now that more and more people buy Raspberry Pi devices and Ubuntu Phones.
