Gamers will have to deal with loss and pain

The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft have delivered a lot of details about Halo 5: Guardians during the recent E3 2015 event, with a full look at the new Warzone multiplayer experience and more details about the single-player campaign.

But the two companies have a lot of other details to offer about the coming first-person shooter, and it seems that one of the elements that will receive a major boost is the emotional quote of the narrative.

Tim Longo, the creative director working on the title, tells Kotaku that "We have a lot of surprises in the campaign when it comes to that side of things and we’ve tried hard to instill those kind of emotions. That’s been a big goal for us."

Josh Holmes, the leader of 343 Industries, says that he has teared up when some of the elements of the story of Halo 5: Guardians were first shown to the entire studio.

It seems that the company wants gamers to create connections with the characters they fight along with, and the comparison to Halo: Reach is a sign that a number of them will probably die in a dramatic and heroic manner.

343 Industries wants to expand on the classic elements of the franchise

The campaign of Halo 5: Guardians will focus on both Master Chief and Agent Locke, now a Spartan, and the statements from the developers might be a sign that at least one of them will not be present at the end.

Most of the fans will be expecting such a shocking development, but 343 Industries can make the entire experience engaging as long as they focus on the core elements of the series, and themes like sacrifice and the resilience of humanity.

For fans of the multiplayer side of the coming shooter, the team is delivering both classic modes and a new Warzone experience, which mixes PvP and PvE elements with a wider set of customization options for Spartans.

Halo 5: Guardians will be offered only on the Xbox One on October 27.

Microsoft has said that it has big plans to market the title and might also offer a special console bundle for the holiday season.
