Halo 5: Guardians is only a few months away from launch, but there are a lot of details about the multiplayer that the development team at 343 Industries has not yet talked about, and one of the most important are the maps that will be included in the new Warzone experience.

At the San Diego Comic Con, the studio and Microsoft partnered with MegaBloks to reveal the biggest of the environments that have been created so far, called Raid on Apex 7.

The video shows the layout of the battlefield using the collectible pieces, but so far the developers have not offered an in-game look at the new map.

However, there are lore details about Raid on Apex 7, explaining that it was created by the UNSC in order to prepare Spartan teams for the fact that a new Array ring might be located and they might need to move fast in order to disable them.

343 Industries states, "One of a set of linked environments that highlight specific areas and facilities of interest (e.g. Library and Cartographer sites), Apex 7 is a composite of high-value research archives found on Delta and Gamma Halo and assumed to have existed on Alpha Halo."

The map can be used with enemies that range from Forerunner forces to Covenant opponents, and a wide array of vehicles and weapons are also featured.

Warzone tweaks the traditional Halo multiplayer formula

The company is suggesting that there are other similar large maps for the game mode that will be revealed close to launch date.

The Warzone experience allows two teams of Spartans to compete for victory while also dealing with a variety of computer-controlled enemy forces, combining Player versus Player and Player versus Environment mechanics in interesting ways.

The multiplayer side of Halo 5: Guardians will also include classic modes and gamers will be able to tackle the campaign cooperatively.

Spartans in the coming game have access to a wide array of new weapons, and 343 Industries has said that it wants to offer a more dynamic overall experience.

Long-term fans can get a more classic take on the mechanics by using the custom game mode and by disabling most newly-introduced Spartan powers.

Halo 5: Guardians will be out on the Xbox One on October 27 of this year.
