Gamers will be able to also use new UI options

The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are announcing that the next content update for Halo 5: Guardians is called Hammer Storm and will deliver one new map, a range of modes, unique weapons, and more REQ cards before the end of the month, probably next weekend.

Fiesta Slayer, Assault, and Grifball are the game modes that players will be able to experience, and custom options will also give the community a chance to play experiences like Ricochet and Oddball, all of them based on using a ball as the core element of matches.

The new map that will be introduced to Halo 5: Guardians with the Hammer Storm update is called Torque, and the studio plans to show it off during a live stream that will be shown on February 26.

The image attached to this article also features the REQ cards that players can pick up in the update, although, as always, 343 Industries is only showing a limited number of aspects related to the coming content before it delivers the full update.

The development team adds, "In addition to the above content, Hammer Storm also brings with it a number of game improvements across Forge, fixes for issues with player warping and game de-sync in some rare cases, UI (user interface) improvements, and more. This week, we'll preview some of the work that the latter team has been doing."

Kevin McGinnis, the user interface artist lead working on Halo 5: Guardians, also explains that, when Hammer Storm arrives, gamers will be provided with more color options to allow them to make their Spartan look closer than before to major characters of the franchise.

There are also tweaks linked to the emblems that can be used for the characters.

Hammer Storm will also deliver other gameplay tweaks and bug fixes, but the development team will only come up with a full list once the update is actually live.

Halo 5: Guardians celebrates Valentine's Day with new mode

A playlist has been created by 343 Industries for February 14, which features social slayer with custom-themed and colored Breakout maps that have new geometry and weapon placement.

The score to win is 30 kills, and Halo 2 BR is used for the start of the match.

According to the development team, there are also plans to make changes to the playlists of Halo 5: Guardians to offer more variety while also making it easier for the core of the studio to work on entirely new multiplayer experiences.

343 Industries has pledged to deliver one major update for Halo 5: Guardians every month for free for the entire community to keep the fans engaged with the shooter and to give them a chance to pick up REQ packs and increase the prize pool of the World Championships.

Unfortunately, those who love the single-player aspect of the first-person shooter will be unable to get access to any downloadable content pack that will push the story of Master Chief forward, which means that they will have to wait for an announcement about the next title in the series.
