The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are aiming to make the coming Halo 5: Guardians the biggest launch of the year, and the two companies are trying to get fans interested in more than the most basic version of the game.

A new video that features both Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, the main community liaison, and Josh Holmes, who leads the studio creating the Master Chief experience, talks about the special editions of the shooter and the bundle that features an Xbox One home console.

The close look at the extra content that gamers will be able to get is important because it offers fans a way to evaluate the various options and decide which version of Halo 5: Guardians they want to pay for in the coming weeks.

The Limited Edition for the shooter will include a SteelBook that's designed to reflect the core design elements of the universe, as well as special details for both Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris.

A Guardian model, more REQ packs than for the normal version of Halo 5: Guardians, and access to the Fall of Reach animated series are also included.

The Limited Collector's Edition will offer all of the above as well as a way to play using a downloadable version of the shooter on October 20 and a statue that depicts Master Chief and Agent Locke.

Halo 5: Guardians is a huge exclusive for the Xbox One

Gamers who have not yet moved to the new generation of home consoles can get a bundle that will become available on October 20 and will include a device with a 1 TB hard drive, which offers a lot of space for gamers to download games and other content, with a custom design and a special controller.

Gamers who get the special Xbox One can also use the FOTUS class armor as well as a Vanguard emblem in multiplayer in Halo 5: Guardians.

A version of the controller that has a Master Chief-inspired design is also offered separately and can be picked up when the shooter arrives on October 27.

Halo 5: Guardians is designed to offer a big single-player campaign, which provides two perspectives on the same events, with full cooperative play options for four gamers.

343 Industries is also aiming to tweak the multiplayer of the shooter, introducing two distinct gameplay experiences in the Arena and the Warzone modes.
