The teams at developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are ready to offer some more information on the newly revealed Raid on Apex 7 map for the Warzone mode in Halo 5: Guardians, which was first revealed using Mega Bloks.

Jeremy Raymond, the multiplayer level designer, explains in an official Halo Waypoint update that he was always fascinated by the Halo and Silent Cartographer levels, which he wanted to recreate for some modern gamers. Raid on Apex 7 will deliver moments like the beach landing battle, the ocean facing bases and Covenant attack waves.

Raymond adds, "My focus was to pay fan service through the entirety of its development while creating a fun and balanced experience for Warzone. With the support of the entire team at 343, we were able to make this vision a reality."

The developer explains how he moved from paper prototypes to test out ideas and how he initially hoped to create an even bigger environment, but the concept was not solid enough.

Chin Fong, the environment artist, explains that he created the Forerunner tower and Arch and had to offer a design that kept the look of the old games while also offering entirely new elements for fans.

Raid on Apex 7 gameplay will be shown soon by 343 Industries

Kevin Franklin, the multiplayer focused design director, says that the unique layout of the map and its scale will create unique moments for Warzone player and that it is aiming to deliver vehicle combat inspired by the likes of Valhalla and Paradiso.

Bosses will be hidden in small areas, and gamers will have to spend a lot of time to find all of them and how they can be taken out.

Warzone is one of the major innovations for the multiplayer side of Halo 5: Guardians, with gamers having to take out AI controlled enemies while they also battle a human team that wants to achieve the same objectives.

343 Industries says the mode combines the best elements of the franchise and offers both new and old fans a way to experience the excitement and tactical elements that the franchise has long emphasized.

Halo 5: Guardians will be out on October 27 on the Xbox One, and gamers can play it one week earlier if they get the special edition.
