343 Industries and Microsoft are aiming to make Halo 5: Guardians one of the biggest titles of the year, and the game will be taking players to Sanghelios in one of the single-player missions, offering fans a chance to visit one of the most interesting locations in the universe of the franchise that has never been shown before.

Morgan Lockhart, a narrative designer at the studio, explains on the Halo Waypoint that the team always wanted to show gamers more about the Sangheli and their culture, giving them a chance to meet some interesting and unique characters.

The Arbiter will be featured front and center in the story and there will be plenty of callbacks for those who loved Halo 2.

The developer states, "An animal is most dangerous when you back it into a corner and it knows it’s fighting for its last shot at survival, and that’s essentially what the Arbiter has done to the last of the Covenant when we reach Sanghelios. They’re going down, but they’re giving hell as they do."

The Swords of Sanghelios gameplay sequence features Agent Locke seeking the help of the character in order to find Master Chief and find out the truth about his actions.

Halo 5: Guardians relies heavily on cooperative mechanics

343 Industries wants gamers to play the single-player story with their friends, inhabiting different perspectives for both Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris.

Lockhart says his team has worked hard in order to make sure that all the involved characters will be able to react to events and then talk to the rest of their squad about what's happening in the environment.

Halo 5: Guardians will focus on both Master Chief and Agent Locke as they chase each other across the universe of the game trying to find out the truth about recent events and face another threat to the galaxy.

When it comes to multiplayer, the shooter will feature a range of new abilities for the Spartans, and 343 Industries is also introducing two new modes, Warzone and Arena, while delivering upgraded versions of Capture the Flag and Big Team Battle.

Halo 5: Guardians will be offered only on the Xbox One on October 27.
