A lot of tweaks are being delivered for multiplayer

Halo 5: Guardians is already a big game, both in terms of player interest and when it comes to its file size, and the development team at 343 Industries is ready to reveal that the day one patch for the shooter will also be a large one, coming in at 9 GB.

Gamers will be asked to download it as soon as they get the title on their Xbox One on October 27, and the company is planning to deliver an official list of changes linked to it closer to that date.

The information about the 9 GB size for the day one patch comes from the official Twitter account of Josh Holmes, the leader of the team working on Halo 5: Guardians, who says that gamers will get some maps as part of the package.

The Master Chief powered title will ask gamers to have more than 60 GB of hard drive space ready on the Xbox One for the full installation, although the official size of the download package has not yet been revealed.

Tweaks to multiplayer are probably based on both internal testing and on the information that 343 Industries has gathered from the beta period earlier in the year.

The team is introducing a much-tweaked experience, with Spartans now more mobile than ever before and equipped with a range of new abilities that will add variety to the combat.

343 Industries has said that it will continue to listen to player feedback after Halo 5: Guardians is launched in order to deliver more patches to keep the balance as close to perfect as possible.

15 maps are being added to multiplayer for free

This is the number of extra maps that 343 Industries is planning to deliver during the first year of life for Halo 5: Guardians.

All of them are free because the developers want to make sure that they do not split the community up in any way.

Big Team Battle is the major multiplayer mode for Halo 5: Guardians that will be offered via an update.

Until it arrives, gamers can engage with the all-new Warzone experience, which takes some cues from MOBAs and mixes Player versus Player and Player versus Environment mechanics.

The REQ system is linked to it, with a range of cards that gamers can obtain and then play in order to improve the performance of their Spartan or the team he is part of.

The team will allow players to use real-world money to get access to them but says that the impact on gameplay will be limited.

For more driven fans Halo 5: Guardians offers an Arena mode that is customized for intense combat and will be used for the game's presence in the eSports space.

The full list of day launch playlists has recently been revealed, and 343 Industries says it will tweak it often.

For gamers who want even more Halo 5: Guardians content, the company is planning to offer an updated take on the Forge at some point in December, making it easy for players to create and share their own content associated with the shooter.
