Halo 5: Guardians has just received a huge amount of details about the story campaign, not to mention two new videos. The first shows off some direct gameplay footage, while the second depicts a cut scene from the same campaign.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to make its debut at the end of October exclusively for the Xbox One console. So far, developer 343 Industries has shared plenty of details about the game’s various modes, from the story campaign to the competitive multiplayer modes and other such things.

The story campaign runs at 60fps and has dynamic resolution

After previously confirming that only the multiplayer mode is capable of running at 1080p resolution and 60fps framerate, while the story campaign won’t be able to reach the same performance, 343 Industries reveals that it has managed to make some optimizations and things have changed.

More specifically, the story campaign in Halo 5: Guardians runs at 60fps framerate at all times. However, the resolution will be a dynamic one, as 343 Industries emphasizes that it will be 1080p at most times, but during hectic moments and other intense circumstances, it will be automatically lowered to ensure the game’s visuals can reach their expected levels.

“60fps gameplay is supported by a new progressive resolution system that allows us to dynamically scale the resolution at which we render the game (up to 1080p) based on the needs of the scene. This enables us to deploy resources where they have most impact across a diverse series of experiences throughout the game while delivering the most visually stunning Halo game ever,” the studio explains on its website.

At the same time, to depict the impressive visuals in the story campaign, 343 has also presented two different Halo 5: Guardians videos. One focuses on the cinematic cut scenes in the actual story, while the other shows off a small section of the Swords of Sanghelios mission in solo mode. You can watch them below.
