Some of you might remember Huawei’s latest release in the tablet space, the MediaPad M2, which was launched in France last month.

We were expecting the tablet to be rolled out globally beginning this month, but it looks like the Chinese company has decided to launch a special version of MediaPad M2.

Huawei MediaPad M2 Harman/Kardon edition has just been unveiled with the same specs as the original model, but with some special audio technology added.

According to a new report, the slate will be available for purchase in both silver and gold colors. While there's no word on pricing, we do know it will hit shelves in China, Western Europe and South Pacific first, followed by Russia, North Eastern Europe and Japan.

For your information, the MediaPad M2 has been priced in France at €350 ($400), but the Harman/Kardon edition might be slightly more expensive (we hope it won't). We'll update on pricing as soon as we have more info on that.

Clafi-Fi and ClariVu technologies make this tablet stand out

Moving on to specs, Huawei MediaPad M2 comes with stereo speakers that feature Harman/Kardon audio technology, HiFi codek Hi6402 for signal-to-noise ratio of 114db, as well as Clari-Fi real audio technology.

These audio technologies are said to offer improved audio experiences for movies, games and music. Also, the SWS v2.0 should provide users with wider sound fields by creating a 180-degree surround sound and a broader stereo effect.

The MediaPad M2 sports an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features ClariVu technology.

On the inside, the slate is equipped with a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 930 processor, which is complemented by a Mali-T628 MP4 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The tablet also packs 16GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB). On the back, the MediaPad M2 features 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while on the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera.

Huawei MediaPad M2 is powered by a 4,800 mAh battery and offers a wide range of connectivity options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, and GPS with AGPS.

Last but not least, the slate ships with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with the latest Emotion UI v3.1.
