The Honor Play family contains some of the cheapest Android smartphones launched by Huawei, but that doesn't mean they don't offer decent specs.

The next device in the series to be launched by the Chinese company is the Huawei Honor Play 5X, which has recently been spotted at TENAA, the regulatory commission in the Mainland.

According to a new report, Huawei Honor Play 5X will be officially introduced in China on October 10. The Chinese company has already started to send invitations to the press, though the handset maker has not confirmed which device it will unveil later this week.

As mentioned earlier, the Honor Play 5X is one of Huawei's affordable smartphones, which will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

When it comes to specs, the device is nothing to be impressed with, which is why we expect it to be priced very low, possibly no more than $160.

It will be powered by a large 4,000mAh battery

The listing at TENAA confirms the Honor Play 5X comes with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, and 2GB of RAM.

Also, Huawei Honor Play 5X comes with no less than 16GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Last but not least, the smartphone packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video calls, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front for video calls and selfies.

The Honor Play 5X is expected to offer dual-SIM and 4G LTE support, among other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0, and GPS with AGPS support. Stay tuned for more on this one.
