In an unexpected move, Taiwanese handset maker HTC announced the upcoming availability of yet another high-end Android smartphone in India, the One ME.

HTC has been releasing high-end One series smartphones like crazy in the last couple of weeks. The One M9 has already been launched in India, but it doesn't seem to sell that well.

This is probably one of the reasons HTC has decided to bring another high-end smartphone in India. At first glance, the One ME is more powerful than its One M9 predecessor, a new report mentions.

Customers in India will be able to purchase the HTC One ME for no less than Rs 40,500 outright, which is about $635 or €570.

The smartphone should hit shelves by the end of June and customers will be able to choose from two color options: Classic Rose Gold and Meteor Grey.

Moving on to specs, HTC One ME boasts a stunning 5.2-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution display and ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

It's one of the first to come with MediaTek's Helio X10 CPU

The high-end smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795T (Helio X10) processor, which is complemented by a PowerVR G6200 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

HTC One ME packs a 20.7-megapixel camera in the back, which features autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front there's a secondary UltraPixel camera for video calls and selfies.

The One ME comes with 32GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It's further worth mentioning the handset is powered by a 2,840 mAh battery.

“Known for its expertise in design , as well as for offering the best in class features customised as per their consumers lifestyle, HTC doesn’t disappoint, offering brilliant performance in a stunning device which reinterprets the HTC way that people can relate to.

“The HTC One ME Dual SIM is an outstanding device to perfectly suit your style in its own unique way,” said Faisal Siddiqui, president, South Asia, HTC.
