HTC launched its flagship smartphone, the One M9, back in March, but the device was met with skepticism. Since the phone's specs were not on par with those of competitors, the One M9 did not sell that well.

However, the Taiwanese company was fast to release a few other high-end smartphones that were better specced than the One M9, while maintaining the same premium design.

The One M9+ is such a device, but HTC only made it available in Taiwan and India back in May when it went on sale. The good news is that HTC has just announced the high-end One M9+ will be available in Europe soon.

Although the company has not mentioned when exactly the smartphone will go on sale and which country will get it first, we know for sure it will be available in Romania from mid-August, so we suspect that it will be launched in other European countries around the same timeframe.

Unfortunately, there's no word on pricing options, but you can expect the One M9+ to be valued at a slightly higher price than the regular model.

HTC's true flagship smartphone comes with a MediaTek chipset

Moving on to specs, the One M9+ comes with a 5.2-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and 565ppi (pixel per inch) pixel density.

Hardware-wise, HTC One M9+ is equipped with a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795T processor, a PowerVR G6200 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

It also packs 32GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB). It does not feature dual-SIM support, but offers a fingerprint sensor and Dolby Surround.

On the back, the smartphone comes with duo camera which includes a 20-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording, and a secondary 2.1-megapixel unit for in-depth focus.

In the front, there's a secondary 4-UltraPixel camera for selfies and video calls, which can capture full HD (1080p) video.

The One M9+ comes with 4G LTE support and is powered by a non-removable 2,840 mAh battery, which is rated by HTC for up to 600 hours of standby time or up to 23 hours of talk time (13 hours in 3G mode).
