If you're not living in Japan, then you probably never heard about HTC J Butterfly, which was launched in the country back in May.

The good news is that the Taiwanese company thought it would be wise to bring the smartphone to international markets. Dubbed HTC Butterfly 3, the device will be available on October 20 for $600 outright.

It will be initially launched in Taiwan, but it's slated for a global rollout soon afterwards. HTC also confirmed the Butterfly 3 will be available in Carmine, Midnight Blue and White color options.

The $600 price tag is completely justifiable since the HTC Butterfly 3 boasts hyper-vibrant 5.2-inch SuperLCD 3 capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the inside, the Butterfly 3 is equipped with a 64-bit 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

A powerful rugged smartphone

The smartphone packs no less than 32GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 2TB via microSD card slot.

Connectivity-wise, HTC Butterfly 3 offers a plethora of options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, MHL 3.0, NFC (Near Field Communication) and GPS with AGPS support.

Another strong point of the high-end smartphone is the fact that it's IPX7 certified, which makes it both water and dust resistant.

On the back, Butterfly 3 packs an impressive 20-megapixel photo snapper with dual-LED flash, autofocus, BSI sensor, sapphire lens and f/2.2 aperture. Also, in the front there's a no less impressive 13-megapixel camera for state-of-the-art selfies and video calls.

HTC Butterfly 3 is powered by a 2,700 mAh battery and features dual front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Audio technology.

Obviously, the smartphone will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system onboard, but HTC could offer a Marshmallow upgrade in the coming months.
