Google has filed new documents with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) detailing a new hardware device that sure looks like the next iteration of Google Glass.

While the first version of Google Glass, dubbed the Explorer Edition (XE), was officially discontinued a while back, this new version is being called Enterprise Edition (EE) inside the offices at Mountain View, according to 9to5Google.

The new Google Glass will focus on companies, not end users

The move to the enterprise market by Google's team makes a lot of sense if you spend 5 minutes online reading reviews for the first version of Glass, which was extremely unpopular with end users, and especially their friends who did not like potentially being recorded all the time without their consent.

The only place where Google had success with the XE version was the business sector, where enterprises provided valuable feedback and looked genuinely interested in the product's features.

The medical, law enforcement, and the constructions fields seemed to love the first version, as buggy as it was.

Google Glass Enterprise Edition will focus on better streaming support

With the new FCC filing of A4R-GG1, Google has revealed some of the details for the new EE edition, and these are Bluetooth LE support and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac WiFi capabilities in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

There are also rechargeable, non-removable batteries with the new version, which can be loaded with an AC charger and USB cable, as Droid-Life reports.

The first official images of the next Google Glass product are expected on December 28, 2015, and since this snippet of information was included with the FCC filing, it also means an official announcement from Google won't be expected until the later months of the year, when the product will also probably enter its testing phase.
