14 DAY TRIAL // David King, maintainer of the GNOME Logs software, an open-source project that provides users with a graphical tool for viewing systemd journal logs, has announced the release of the first milestone towards version 3.20.
As you might know, the development cycle of the next major version of the acclaimed GNOME desktop environment, GNOME 3.20, has started, and in a few days we will be able to test the first ever snapshot, GNOME 3.19.1.

According to the release notes, which we've attached at the end of the article for reference, GNOME Logs 3.19.1 is here to add features like simple log export, as well as clickable Support link.
This release also patches a crash that occurred during the search for string tokenization, addresses a bug in the single boot item menu, and implements a log view permissions warning.
GNOME Logs has a new maintainer
David King has also informed us that he added Jonathan Kang as a new maintainer for GNOME Logs, but we don't know yet if Mr. King will step down as a maintainer or if both developers will implement new features and fix bugs in the software.
Last but not least, the Greek help translation has been updated in GNOME Logs 3.19.1, and there are also updates for many other language translations, including Basque, Czech, Finnish, Irish, Serbian, Serbian Latin, and Vietnamese.
Those of you who want to test GNOME Logs 3.19.1 can download the sources right now from Softpedia and start compiling by hand. However, please try to keep in mind that this is a pre-release version, not suitable for deployment in production environments.
