Gears of War: Ultimate Edition developer The Coalition has just released a fresh update for the Xbox One game, promising to solve some of the serious problems that affected the Gnasher weapon. Other fixes relating to achievements, player spawn locations, invisible collisions on certain maps, and other such things are included.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition launched at the end of August on the Xbox One and brought back the original experience seen in the first game of the series, which released in 2006 for the Xbox One. Boasting better visuals, revised cut scenes, not to mention refined multiplayer, the title attracted a lot of attention.

Unfortunately for fans, a few issues weighed down the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War on the Xbox One, particularly some that related to the Gnasher weapon.

After confirming that it's aware of the problems, developer The Coalition has just released a big title update for the game via the Xbox Live online service, according to the official forums.

As expected, the main improvements relate to the Gnasher, in order to improve its general consistency. The tweaks make sure that the pellets shoot in a consistent pattern, remove the Idle State, and fix incorrect headshot reports from Gnasher shots.

"We wanted to improve the Gnasher by focusing on producing a consistent shot, so players can better predict and estimate the damage they are doing to opponents. We’ve done this by changing the Gnasher from a randomized pellet spread to the same shape spread. This will help reduce occurrences where you do less or more damage than expected, and also help players calculate their damage expectations during gunfights more accurately and consistently," the studio explains.

Achievements like "This is Annex" and "Nub Pwn3r" have been extended to include all ring game types while maps like Mansion and Clocktower should no longer have invisible collision issues in specific zones.

The camera flinching when taking damage has been reduced across the whole multiplayer mode, in order to make things more consistent with the original Gears of War. A suite of other changes, bug fixes, and improvements are included in the patch, so check out the changelog below.
