The development team at The Coalition and publisher Microsoft are ready to announce a range of changes that they are making to the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition experience based on the feedback and data delivered by the community during the beta process.

The developers reveal that more than a million matches were played in one week, with one gamer reaching more than 500.

The list of fixes and improvements can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article and is focused on the balance of the various weapons, the way the modes are setup, matchmaking and the use of blood and gore.

The Coalition states, "We want you to know that we take your feedback seriously, and we are looking forward to you trying out these new changes in August when the retail game launches. As always, we want to hear your feedback - join us on our Forums, Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, or YouTube."

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is designed to deliver an updated version of the classic title on the Xbox One and will be launched on August 25.

Gamers who get it will be able to play all the core game modes, as well as Team Deathmatch and King of the Hill, on 20 maps.

The title will include support for split-screen play, party support, private matches on dedicated servers and other modern features that will enhance the classic Gears of War experience.

The Coalition is also working on Gears 4

Neither the developers nor Microsoft has talked about their plans to deliver updates versions of the other three core titles in the series.

The two companies might be waiting to see what kind of sales Gears of War: Ultimate Edition generates before a decision is made.

The Coalition is also in the initial development stages for a new title, called Gears 4, which is set to arrive on the Xbox One in 2016.

The title was revealed during the E3 2015 Microsoft press conference and seems to use the core mechanics of the franchise, although the focus is more on atmosphere and on a new set of enemies to take out.

More details about its single player and its multiplayer design will be revealed in the coming months.
