Gears of War: Ultimate has just gone through a beta stage on the Xbox One, and the teams at The Coalition and Microsoft are delivering an infographic to show just how popular the experience is even when the fans are only testing it.

More than 41 million kills were generated in the eight days, and the community delivered 1.6 million of them using the chainsaw.

The total play time for the Gears of War: Ultimate beta has gone over 120 years, and more than 786,000 unique users were involved in the testing process.

The Coalition is using the period to get the information and the fan feedback it needs to improve the overall gameplay of the experience before it delivers it for all those who own an Xbox One home console, and surprisingly, on the PC as well.

Gears of War: Ultimate will be offered on August 25, and the team in charge of it has suggested that its success will influence the chances of getting similar remakes for the other titles in the franchise.

Gears 4 is also in development at The Coalition

For the remake, the development team has been introducing some changes to the core gameplay, with the cover and movement system closer to the one used in Gears of War 3.

The entire experience, including the PC exclusive chapters, will run at 1080p and 60 FPS, and while the engine is not being changed, the studio is adding a lot of graphics-based improvements.

The Coalition is also remaking the cutscenes, and the difficulty system is also being tweaked in order to appeal to a larger variety of players.

The Ultimate version of Gears of War is designed as an appetizer for those who love the series.

Gears 4, the next full installment, was first shown during E3 2015 and is designed to offer a new take on the core mechanics of the series.

The short demo included some complex combat sequences and suggested that cooperative play would be one of the core elements of the experience.

Gears 4 is expected to arrive in late 2016 and will only be offered on the Xbox One.
