Rockstar Games confirms that it will release a new update for Grand Theft Auto 5 and its GTA Online multiplayer mode in September. The patch is going to pack "exciting" gameplay changes for the online mode but also fresh features for the Rockstar Editor, not to mention custom versions of it for the PS4 and Xbox One editions of the game.

Grand Theft Auto 5 has been available for quite some across a multitude of platforms all around the world. The PC version was the last to arrive, making its debut in April of this year, but it also packed plenty of exclusive features.

After slowly but surely bringing some of those enhancements to the PS4 and Xbox One versions, developer Rockstar is now preparing another hefty update for the popular open world game.

September brings a big patch with many new things for GTA 5

According to the announcement on the Rockstar Newswire, a major update for GTA 5 and its GTA Online mode is coming next month.

Rockstar teases some "exciting" gameplay changes for the GTA Online Freemode, but mentions that actual details will arrive in the coming weeks.

Until then, the studio explains that the PC-exclusive Rockstar Editor will be making its way into GTA 5 through the upcoming update to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTA 5.

At the same time, new features will go live for the PC version and are built into the console release of the Rockstar Editor. These include a library of ambient audio and sound effects, integration with the Snapmatic app, better Director mode options, Copy and Paste marker properties, and fresh fonts.

No word yet on when exactly the new update is going to drop next month for Grand Theft Auto 5, but you can expect more details about its contents, especially the gameplay tweaks, in the following weeks, as we get closer to its debut.
