According to a report by Digitimes revealing information gathered from Foxconn Electronics, Pegatron Technology, Largan Precision and Catcher Technology inside sources, all iPhone manufacturers are already operating at full capacity and are getting ready for strong sales in the fourth quarter of 2015.

As Digitimes' sources said, "A record 13 million units in weekend sales have dismissed makers' previous concerns that sales of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus might not be as good as the previous generation because the new iPhones do not come with a slew of new upgrades in terms of hardware specifications."

Moreover, the strong weekend sales have been boosted by the new 3D Touch display in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models, as well as the new rose gold finish in the new iPhone model line.

The Taiwan-based iPhone manufacturers are prepping for a fourth quarter of 2015 with record iPhone sales, for both the 6s and the 6s Plus models

Because of this increased demand, Foxconn and Pegatron, the most important iPhone manufacturers had their plants working at full capacity to be able to keep up with Apple's requests for more iPhone units.

"Buoyed by strong sales of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, total shipments of iPhone devices are expected to hit a record of 75-80 million units in the fourth quarter of 2015," as the same sources cited by Digitimes said, "higher than the 74.5 million units shipped a year."

Having such strong sales is not an unexpected outcome seeing that the 3D Touch features in Apple's iOS 9 can only be used by owners of the latest iPhone models.

Furthermore, the difference in performance between the iPhone 6s' A9 chipset and the older A8 available in the iPhone 6, might also prove to be an incentive for users of older iPhone models to switch to the latest iPhone.
