The development team at Turn 10 and publisher Microsoft are starting a publicity campaign for the coming Forza Motorsport 6, which includes a new major television spot that celebrates the history of the racing game series and explains how the Xbox One can power a new take on the genre.

The featured video games include Gran Trak 10 - Atari, Pole Position - Bandai Namco, RC Pro Am - Rare, Chase HQ - Taito, and Ridge Racer - Bandai Namco.

When it comes to Forza Motorsport 6, the TV ad focuses on the 2017 Ford GT, the supercar designed to be shown for the first time in the racing title before it is actually offered for real world drivers.

Microsoft states, "To place the photorealistic car inside the pixelated game worlds, Xbox photographed a real-life, multimillion dollar prototype of the Ford GT that was suspended within a motion-controlled hydraulic rig."

Special tracking markers mean that the real car fits perfectly into the simulated world of Forza Motorsport 6.

Creative agency twofifteenmccann created the spot and direction was handled by Michael Spiccia, with the official soundtrack featuring Danger! High Voltage, as performed by Electric Six from Detroit, Michigan.

The Formula One Grand Prix that takes place in Italy will be the first event to feature the Forza Motorsport 6 TV spot.

Turn 10 is adding a lot of cars and more realism

The racing game will be offered on September 15 on the Xbox One, and a demo is now available, offering all those who play it access to the new Ford GT when the full experience is live.

The development team says that the game will be the most complex racing experience on any home console.

Gamers will be able to choose from more than 450 cars, including Porsche offerings and some vehicles from the Fast & Furious, offered to those who get a Deluxe or an Ultimate version.

26 real world environments have been carefully scanned to make sure that the tracks in Forza Motorsport 6 are as realistic as possible, and the development team has also introduced a new physics system.

The game offers night races and rainy weather for the first time, asking gamers to carefully re-evaluate their driving style if they want to get to the finish line in first place.
