Simple steps to make sure you wake up your  Watch

Apple's Watch makes it possible to control a paired iPhone 5 or later, and it can also be used as a smartwatch with health and fitness tracking capabilities.

If your Apple Watch has been acting up and it doesn't respond to your touches or when pressing its buttons, you should follow the next few steps to get it fixed and to make sure that you don't need to get in touch with Apple's Support team.

Step 1 - Restart the Apple Watch

To force-restart your Apple Watch, you need to press both the side button and the Digital Crown for 10 seconds or more, until the Apple logo appears on the Watch's screen.

Step 2 - Exit Power Reserve mode

When your Apple Watch is in Power Reserve mode, it will not respond to any taps on the screen or any wrist gestures no matter how insistent you are, and the Watch's screen will be frozen or black.

When the Watch is in Power Reserve mode, you should see the time when you press the side button.

If this is the case, to disable this mode, you have to press the side button on your Apple Watch up to 10 seconds, until the Apple logo shows up on the display.

If a red thunderbolt is displayed next to the time after the Apple watch starts up, you will have to charge the Apple Watch because it has a low battery.

Step 3 - Disable VoiceOver

Sometimes, after restarting the Watch, you might hear a description of what is displayed on the device's screen. If this is the case, VoiceOver is enabled on your Apple Watch.

Disabling VoiceOver is possible even if you don't have your iPhone around with the help of Siri. To do that, you have to press and hold the Watch's Digital Crown until you feel a tap on your arm and then say "Turn off Voiceover."

To toggle off the VoiceOver feature using the iPhone, you have to launch the Watch app on your iPhone from General > Accessibility > VoiceOver. First disable the Screen Curtain feature and then toggle VoiceOver off.

Step 4 - Apple Support

If the above steps haven't been able to revive your Apple Watch, and the device freezes during start up or displays a red exclamation mark while it turns on, the only thing you can do is to get in touch with Apple Support because they're the only ones that can help you with a faulty Apple Watch unit.
