14 DAY TRIAL // The Steam Exploration Sale is underway, and more than 1,600 games are now discounted for this platform, from a total of over 2,800. A lot of them are really good, but they might now be present on the first page. Here are some of the must-buy titles.
When you have 1,600 games on offer, it gets really difficult to figure out what you want to buy, so I figured that some of you might want some pointers. It’s difficult not to let my personal preferences interfere with the selection, but I’ll do my best. The games selected meet three criteria for the selection: quality, hours of gameplay, and discount.
Five must-buy games on Steam for Linux
The games are in no particular order. Don't Starve is a survival game developed by Klei Entertainment, the same who also did the Shank series. It has a strange vibe to it, and it will keep you glued to the screen. You’re also going to die, a lot. It has a 75% discount.
The next one is Sid Meier's Civilization V: Complete Edition. Keep in mind, don’t buy the regular edition, get this one. It has all the DLCs, and you will want to play them all. If you start to play right now, it’s unlikely that you’ll stop until 2016. The discount for it is of 75%.
Papers, Please sounds like the most boring game ever invented. You’re a Customs agent in the communist state of Arstotzka, and you decide who goes through the border. Somehow, checking passports and refusing bribes takes hours and hours. The game has a 40% discount.
The Journey Down series is a must-have. This is an old-school point-and-click adventure with an amazing work and story. You’re going to love the character and the design, and the third and last part is on its way.
Cities: Skylines is of the best city simulations available right now. There isn’t much to say about, just that it runs very well on Linux systems and it’s available at 50%.
