In an era when video game publishers tend to create links with console manufacturers that result in timed exclusivity for downloadable content, Bethesda is bucking the trend and saying that the coming DLC for Fallout 4 will be offered at the same time on all platforms.

The clarification comes from the official Twitter account of Pete Hines, who is in charge of communication for the company and who is answering a clear question from a concerned fan.

Fallout 4 is one of the biggest launches of the coming months, and it's nice to see the company work to offer all new content at the same time for all those who want to buy it.

For Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which arrives on November 6, Activision has entered into a new deal with Sony, which means that all the DLC is coming first to the PlayStation 4 and the PS3, with those playing on other devices having to wait for about one months to get access to it.

A similar business connection had been in place with Microsoft for the past few years.

Bethesda has said that it plans to deliver a regular stream of new content for Fallout 4, which will be entirely covered by a Season Pass that costs gamers 40 dollars or Euro.

Free updates with new features are also planned

The company also seems to understand that it has made some mistakes when it comes to DLC creation and delivery in the past and says that free patches for the coming post-apocalyptic open-world game will not only fix bugs but will introduce new features that the community is asking for.

Bethesda has not yet detailed the exact nature of its post-launch paid content, although we will probably see a mix of story-based sequences and cosmetic tweaks.

Fallout 4 is set to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on November 10 of this year.

The new game takes place in the area around Boston and will allow gamers to play before the nuclear bombs strike for the first time.

The development team has promised that it will improve the exploration and the combat and wants gamers to have more options for character evolution and customization of the world around them.
