Eminem comes under fire online for ripping into Caitlyn Jenner in 8-minute freestyle

Eminem has never shied away from controversy and he’s never been the one to apologize when people found offense with his lyrics. It’s happening again, thanks to an 8-minute freestyle that was posted to one of Eminem’s official YouTube channels.

The entire number is available at the link above, but *please be advised that it contains graphic language that might offend.

Caitlyn Jenner becomes a punchline for Eminem

Em takes on a series of pop culture figures on it, like Azealia Banks, Miley Cyrus, Bill Cosby and Hillary Clinton, but it’s another mention that’s getting him in trouble in the blogosphere: that of trans-woman Caitlyn Jenner.

Jenner, born Bruce Jenner, has been making headlines non-stop since she came out as trans-woman in April and made her debut shortly after on Vanity Fair. She is also the star of her own docuseries on E!, I Am Cait, and was recently presented with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYS 2015.

To many, Jenner is a hero for putting herself out there as a spokesperson for the LGBT community and for making her transition public so that she might help other trans-people struggling with theirs.

To Eminem, Jenner isn’t more than a punchline, and people aren’t happy about it.

Eminem owes Caitlyn an apology, apparently

“This a true statement, I see the [B-word] in you Caitlyn,” he raps. “I keep the pistol tucked like Bruce Jenner’s [expletive] / No disrespect though, not at all / No pun intended… that took a lot of balls.”

Eminem makes sure to stress he means no disrespect, but the consensus right now is that it’s exactly what he meant. Voices in the blogosphere are asking for an apology from him, but chances are he won’t be giving it: when has Eminem ever apologized for anything he said on his songs?

The answer is “never”: he didn’t apologize when he ranted against homosexuals, he didn’t apologize when he ripped into other celebrities, and he will most certainly not do it now either.

Check out the track at the link above and decide for yourself if Eminem has any reason he should apologize.
