The long-awaited PlayStation Plus version of DriveClub is apparently getting close to its launch date, and the entire game package was briefly offered on the PlayStation Network before it was taken down by the development team and Sony.

An official message on Twitter explains that the delivery of the game was premature and that the server infrastructure that is supposed to support it is not ready at the moment.

Neither Evolution Studios nor Sony has said exactly when they are planning to actually launch the PS Plus version of DriveClub.

The package is set to be offered for free to all those who pay for the service and will give them access to all the game modes, as well as the Photo mode and the various challenges.

13 tracks set in India will be available to gamers, who can explore them using 15 of the most interesting cars from DriveClub.

Gamers also have the option to create their own tracks and then share them with the rest of the community.

Progress made in the PS Plus version of DriveClub can be then moved to the full game by those who upgrade.

They will get more cars, an extensive single-player campaign to explore, and a range of other tracks to get to know and learn how to deal with.

DriveClub was launched in October of last year

The plan was to deliver the PS Plus version of the racing title at the same time as the core retail one, but technical problems meant that Sony and Evolution Studios were unable to keep their promise.

The experience also had other problems when it arrived, and the two companies focused on delivering fixes and more content, which frustrated those who wanted to try out the game for free.

There were rumors that the PS Plus version of DriveClub would be offered in time for the E3 2015 event, but it seems that more time is needed to make sure that the experience does not have any major problems when it is finally released.

Sony has not said whether it plans to deliver a sequel for the racing title or if it will ask Evolution Studios to introduce more downloadable content in the coming months.
