“How do you like that? I just thought of that”

Presidential candidate Donald Trump has a new plan to make Apple help the FBI break into the iPhone used by San Bernardino attackers: boycott the company’s products and thus affect their business because they do not comply with the court’s ruling.

Speaking today in South Carolina, Donald Trump had the sudden idea of boycotting Apple following the latest statements released by CEO Tim Cook, who said that his company would oppose to the judge order to develop custom software that would eventually help the feds hack an iPhone.

"First of all, Apple ought to give the security for that phone. What I think you ought to do is boycott Apple until such time as they give that security number. How do you like that? I just thought of that,” he said during his speech.

Tweeting against the iPhone with an iPhone

In a series of tweets posted after the rally, Donald Trump also advised his followers to boycott Apple and its products.

“I use both iPhone & Samsung. If Apple doesn't give info to authorities on the terrorists I'll only be using Samsung until they give info. Hopefully others will follow suit. Our country needs & should demand security. It is time to get tough & be smart! Boycott all Apple products until such time as Apple gives cellphone info to authorities regarding radical Islamic terrorist couple from Cal,” he posted.

Although Donald Trump admits that he’s using an iPhone (and a Samsung device), some of his tweets have actually been posted from the Apple model, which makes his boycott call sound a little bit ridiculous.

Apple has already commented on Donald Trump, but as compared to the presidential candidate, the company’s executives decided to pick a more gentleman-like approach. Cupertino said that “Trump's call for Apple boycott puts the company in standing with other good people he has criticized.”

This isn’t the first time when Donald Trump attacks Apple for its decision not to collaborate with the FBI on hacking the iPhone, as he previously called for the company to comply with the judge ruling as fast as possible. “Who do they think they are?” he asked.
