Presidential hopeful brings ratings-boosting power to NBC

In one of his most recent spats with Fox News, Presidential hopeful Donald Trump boasted of being a true ratings-boosting magnet, so in retaliation for wronging him, he would no longer be making appearances on the network. See how they liked them apples!

Trump eventually went back on his word and called a truce with the network, but he was right about one thing: he truly is good for the ratings, whether you like it or not. His ideas might not be popular with everyone and he might not receive support from all Americans, but the man has star-power.

He’s about to bring it to Saturday Night Live next month, with NBC confirming that he’s booked as host of the November 7 episode. This is actually Trump’s second hosting gig (the first one was in April 2004, back when he was “only” a real estate magnate and reality star), but it’s his first as a politician.

Since he minded Hillary Clinton’s impression of him so much, this will be his chance to fight back. Through comedy, of course.

NBC notes that his SNL gig comes almost one year before the 2016 elections, which may or may not see him as the President to “make America great again!,” which is his campaign slogan.

The episode’s musical guest will be Sia, who will be promoting her new album. This is the second time on SNL for Sia as well.
