The development team at Bungie has long had a policy of only delivering full patch notes for its Destiny updates when the content is available for all involved gamers, and the community has been eagerly waiting to get all the details about 2.1.1, which is now live for the social shooter.

On the official site, the company says that the Crimson Days event is now live, celebrating Valentine's Day for a one-week period by introducing a new Crimson Doubles mode as well as some new emotes, shaders, and emotes for gamers to use.

The new mode focuses on teams of two players, and when one of them goes down in combat, the other gains a new Heartbroken power that enhances their abilities and introduces a chance for them to win the match.

A full list of the changes made to Destiny outside of the new mode and the associated content can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

Bungie has tweaked some game modes as well as implemented the new special ammo rules for a variety of activities while adding the new Freelance playlists for those players who are not interested in becoming part of a Fireteam.

The company also says that it plans to bring back the Iron Banner event on February 23 and that gamers who will play it will be able to get more reputation when they win as well as rewards from Lord Saladin.

The studio is currently evaluating how the changes of 2.1.1 are affecting Destiny and also says players should offer feedback as quickly as possible if they find a new bug or if they see mechanics that interact in weird ways.

There are also long-term plans to continue to improve the matchmaking system, focusing on the reduction of latency and the delivery of good matches.

Bungie Bounty is also returning

Today, those who own Destiny on the PlayStation 4 can jump into Crimson Doubles to face off against a team made up of developers and will get access to a new emblem if they manage to secure a win.

Once Crimson Days is done, the development team says that it will start offering details about another major content update for the social shooter, which is expected to arrive before the end of the spring.

The company has suggested that it will offer changes to the game that rival those made in the major The Taken King expansion, although it is unclear whether that involves new strikes and a unique raid for gamers to enjoy.

Lately, Bungie has been asking fans why they have been abandoning the video game and what the company can do to get them to play again.

A recent rumor suggests that, initially, a full Destiny sequel was set to arrive on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4 before the end of the year, but it has been delayed to make sure that the quality is the one that the fan community is expecting.
