The development team at Bungie is announcing that the long-awaited 2.01 update for Destiny is now live on all platforms, introducing a range of changes for gamers and bringing back two experiences that a lot of players are interested in experiencing.

Gamers who are interested in seeing all the changes made to the social shooter need to use the button at the end of this article.

Bungie is focusing on introducing a range of tweaks for the weapons in Destiny to better balance the core mechanics, with the Shot Package perk for shotguns now gone in an attempt to limit their effectiveness.

There are also changes made to the exotics, and a number of quests and bounties have been tweaked, eliminating many bugs that the community has been signaling.

The 2.01 update for Destiny also deals with strikes, the King's Fall raid, and other modes.

Tess Everis is now back in the Tower as the representative of the Eververse Trading Company, allowing interested gamers to get access to thirteen new emotes for their characters using the new Silver currency.

Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris are back

The development team at Bungie is bringing back two of the most engaging modes in the shooter in order to make sure that gamers have something to do once they finish taking down Oryx and exploring his dreadnought.

For both the Iron Banner and the Trials of Osiris, the studio has introduced some tweaks to the mechanics in order to offer a more balanced experience.

The team makes it clear that the Light Level for the Guardians who take part will be more important than ever because after the new Taken King expansion was launched, even small differences in power can separate the winners from the losers.

Both Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris offer a new range of rewards for gamers, and the developers are planning to introduce more during the second year of Destiny's life.

Bungie has also suggested that it aims to offer more community-driven events for the game, although it has not offered details on what they might consist of.

Destiny is moving towards a free content delivery model

The launch of the Eververse Trading Company and the fact that the new Silver currency can be obtained via real-world money is a sign that the future of the social shooter will use a new business model.

Bungie is hoping that gamers will be interested in the emotes that are being sold and other cosmetic items that will be offered in the coming months.

Their sales will power the live content team for Destiny, which is tasked with offering new content and making sure that the overall experience is balanced.

New missions and quests are supposed to be delivered every few months entirely for free and between them surprise events will take place.

Rumors are also saying that a big team at Bungie is working on Destiny 2, an entirely new title, which is expected to be launched on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in late 2016.
