Bungie has been dealing with a lot of issues related to the launch of The Taken King expansion for Destiny, and now it is aiming to get some goodwill from the community by announcing that all the strikes that were initially only offered on PlayStation devices are getting improved before they arrive on all platforms.

Luke Smith, a creative director at the studio, explains that the company has taken into account feedback coming from gamers and has tweaked the experiences to be more challenging and to deliver more interesting rewards.

He says to Eurogamer that, on both PlayStation and Xbox devices, players will be able to choose between the tougher new versions of the strikes and the original ones.

Smith adds, "So Xbox players can play last year’s model and, as a community, Destiny fans can play through the new versions together and figure them out. We want you to experience The Undying Mind completely as it was with the Vex, and also in a Taken-ified version. We wanted to make it feel like more than last year’s model."

Xbox One and 360 gamers will get access to the Dust Palace and Undying Mind strikes, Player versus Player maps Timekeeper and Exodus Blue, and two weapons called Hawkmoon and The Fourth Horsemen.

PlayStation gamers will continue to get more Destiny content

When The Taken King is introduced on September 15, those who own the social shooter on the PlayStation 4 and the PS3 will get access to another strike with a cooperative element, called The Echo Chamber, a weapon, and a PvP map called Sector 618.

Gamers who want even more Destiny content can also take part in a Red Bull-powered promotion that adds an extra quest.

The Taken King expansion will feature the return of Oryx, a powerful character aiming to get revenge over the Guardians who have taken down his son Crota.

Bungie says that the newly introduced dreadnought environment is different from currently available locations, with some extra twists on both combat and exploration.

The Crucible experience in Destiny is also getting tweaks, and there are three new character subclasses to choose from. Fans of the shooter can also get access to more weapons and other items to upgrade their Guardian.
