It turns out that Dell has managed to sell off the inventory

The Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition is no longer available in Europe after the company has exhausted the inventory for this part of the world.

As it turns out, the Europeans are pretty big fans of the XPS 13 Developer Edition, and they've managed to snatch all the available stock. It might seem weird, but this is not a version intended for wide use, and as the name suggests, it's aimed at a very particular type of people.

In any case, the Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition was also the subject of another news story. It was recently pulled off shelves (sort of speaking) so that its makers could fix some of the issues that have been reported by the community. Now the Europeans will have to wait until the next version is made available at a later date.

Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition has been extremely successful

As some of you might already know, the Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition is shipping with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS by default and it's very Linux-friendly version. This is just one of reasons why it's really liked by the users and the Linux community.

"Unfortunately Europe has already run through their forecasted inventory (they sold better than we expected). The US still has inventory on hand. Because there will be a next gen coming out we won't be getting any more of this model. Thanks for the support!" wrote Dell's Barton George on his website. He's the same guy who announced that the XPS 13 was brought back to the shop a while back.

He didn't say anything else regarding the launch, but he did mention that the US customers still have a chance to buy one of these models. With a little bit of luck, we should see the new model ready by the end of the year.
